Description
With the help of mediums, Winsor & Newton Artists' Acrylics may be used in a fluid, gestural manner (much like watercolor) and in heavier applications (as with oils). Mediums also allow acrylics to be shaped and carved, used for printmaking, or for virtually any other technique.
Made from the same resinous binder used to make Winsor & Newton Artists' Acrylic paints, Winsor & Newton acrylic painting mediums enable artists to improve color durability, keep colors brilliant, extend their colors, bring transparency and depth to the film, and improve flow and "brush-ability."
This lightweight, flexible medium thickens color and allows artists to build up depth in layers after allowing each to dry. Modelling Paste can be mixed with color or used to overpaint. It can be sanded or carved, and it won't shrink or crack when dry. For best results, apply Modelling Paste with a knife. This opaque medium may lighten some colors, and it dries to an even, matte finish.
